One of the greatest things about country Victoria is the number of amazing food truck-friendly venues only an hour or so away from the city.

Here’s a list of some of our favourites that welcome BYO catering.

QUIRINDI STABLES – NEWLYN NORTH

Quirindi Stables is a beautiful country venue located just out of Daylesford that encompasses rustic character with amazing views. And you can’t get better than sparkling chandeliers in a shed with flagstone floors and original wooden beams! Host a festival-style event for up to 200 or sit-down for up to 80 guests.

THE ESTATE TRENTHAM – TRENTHAM

The Estate, an original 1902 3-bedroom Federation home, set amongst beautiful gardens in the heart of Trentham – just over one hour from Melbourne. Designed and decorated by interior stylist, Lynda Gardener. The BARN features as part of the Estate grounds, located adjacent to the house and surrounded by wonderful established gardens.

WARRAWONG WOOLSHED – EYNESBURY

Warrawong is a rare 19th-Century Heritage Listed bluestone shearing shed that once serviced the major pastoral estate Exford, which, at its peak, covered over 100,000 acres. With the capacity for 120 guests to have a seated dinner, this is the closest you’ll get to bush-dance country so near to Melbourne.

ROCKLEA FARM – STONEHAVEN

Rocklea Farm has been a working farm since the 1850s, originally supporting Geelong’s booming wool trade. The 80-acre farm is still used for grazing sheep but a breed that does not require shearing. With the old woolshed no longer in use, Dave and Glen have opened up the farm to a variety of events, giving you the flexibility to choose your own catering style. And you can get around the farm in style too.

LOG CABIN RANCH – MONBULK

The Log Cabin Ranch is tucked away in Monbulk, in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges. Set on 10-acres, Log Cabin Ranch offers a rustic setting with on-site accommodation for up to 70 guests. There are several Ceremony locations on the property including an indoor Ceremony in The Stables, Outdoors in The Secret Garden, Paddock Arbour, Lawn Rotunda or a private spot of your choosing! And the best bit is wedding packages at Log Cabin Ranch are on a self-catering/DIY basis, meaning you can bring along your favourite food truck!

GILWELL PARK (SCOUT CAMP) – GEMBROOK

Gilwell Park is over 160 hectares of picturesque forested setting, making for an adventurous DIY party location. With over 50 buildings on site, it has a range of bunkhouse accommodation for groups of all sizes with a capacity of 200 in accommodation or up to 4000 camping! It’s the perfect setting for Happy Camper!

MOUNT MACEDON WINERY – WOODEND

In the heart of the Macedon Ranges, less than an hour north from Melbourne, Mount Macedon Winery is more than just a cellar door. One of the unique things that you don’t have at many wineries, is the ability to bring in your choice of caterer, which means you can bring your own food truck! Choose from the forest, open fields, vineyard & beautiful gardens as the backdrop for your function.

EURAMBEEN HISTORIC HOMESTEAD – BEAUFORT

Situated 7km from the town of Beaufort in the beautiful Pyrenees district and within 1 hour of the Grampians, Eurambeen Historic Homestead and Gardens is an Historic Landmark dating back to the 1850s. The newly renovated Wool Sheds offers a great venue for a sit-down for 150 people or 200 for cocktails, and the good news is Eurambeen is a DIY venue.

FLINDERS YACHT CLUB – FORESHORE RESERVE, FLINDERS

Flinders Yacht Club on the Mornington Peninsula is a beautiful place for any DIY event. With a stunning beach front location, private road access and ample car parking, you can create your dream coastal celebration complete with tipi and food trucks!
