Q: How long have you been catering?

Since 2013 we’ve been delighting guests with delicious pizza catering at thousands of events across Melbourne and Victoria, bringing our fresh, hand-stretched pizzas and a friendly service to every celebration.

Question 1

Can I change the event timing after I have booked?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! Your event timing is completely flexible. Since we only take one booking per truck/team per day, we can easily adjust to suit your plans. About 6 weeks before your event, we’ll be in touch to start finalising the details — including the timing of your cocktail hour, ceremony (if you’re getting married), and when you’d like mains served. If you’ve booked at a venue, we’ll also confirm everything with them about 3 weeks prior to make sure we’re all perfectly aligned.

Can I make changes to my booking?

We’re super flexible! You’re welcome to make changes to your guest numbers, timing, and even your catering package after booking!

About 6 weeks before your event, we’ll be in touch to start finalising the details, which is the perfect time to update your booking. We completely understand it takes time to gather RSVPs and dietary requirements, and we’re always happy to offer advice as you get closer.

The only things to keep in mind are we may have a minimum spend in place on the day (this will be noted at the bottom of your booking) and bookings can’t decrease by more than 10% once a deposit has been received (as long as the minimum spend is met). If your guest numbers do drop significantly, we’re more than happy to increase the catering instead to remain within 10% of your original booking.

Our tip? It’s always better to underestimate guest numbers when paying your deposit as we can easily add more guests or catering later on!

Question 3

Do I need wait staff?

Wait staff aren’t essential for our casual truck-side service, as most of our events run smoothly with a buffet-style setup — it’s actually one of our most popular options because it keeps wait times short for your guests and allows guests to sample the whole menu throughout the event.

That said, wait staff can be a great addition for very large groups (to keep the buffet topped up and tidy), cocktail-style roaming service, or a sit-down service. We’d be happy to provide a quote for wait staff, or you’re welcome to arrange your own.

Do you need access to power?

Yes, we will need access to a standard 10-amp outlet within 20 metres of the catering site. If this isn’t possible, please let us know as we can bring along a small generator for an additional fee.

Question 5

Do you offer gluten free pizzas?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We’re able to cater to most dietary needs, including gluten-free, vegan, halal, nut-free, and dairy-free. For gluten-free guests, we use fresh gluten free dough that’s hand-stretched just before cooking, and we can prepare the GF pizzas first while the oven is at its cleanest. There is a small surcharge of $6 per gluten-free guest.

Please note: because we’re cooking outdoors with a mobile kitchen and can’t fully control the elements (like wind), there is always a small risk of cross-contamination. For this reason, we’re unable to guarantee a completely safe option for those with Coeliac disease unless they’re comfortable with the risk.

Do you offer vegan pizzas?

Yes, we do! If you only have a few vegan guests, we can provide vegan cheese for a small surcharge of $3 per vegan guest. This allows them to pick from your chosen menu and request a vegan version of their pizza. If you’re expecting a larger number of vegan guests (or simply love vegan options yourself), we recommend including a dedicated vegan pizza in your selection so everyone can enjoy with ease.

How big are the pizzas and how are they served?

Our pizzas are hand-stretched to around 12–13 inches using dough that’s been rested for 48 hours — a little bigger and more flavourful than the standard 10-inch pizzas you’ll find elsewhere!

You can choose from a variety of service styles, including:

service straight from the truck,
buffet-style,
cocktail service, or
a sit-down service.

For guests with dietary needs such as gluten-free or vegan, our chefs are ready to take care of them with custom pizzas!

How long is the service time?

We include 1.5 hours of pizza service for events with up to 100 guests, and 2.5 hours of service for events with more than 100 guests.

If you’d like to keep the pizzas flowing for longer, service can be extended for an additional hourly fee to cover the extra ingredients and staff time. Just let us know!

How many staff are included?

We provide two pizza chefs for up to 80 guests. For every additional 40 guests, we add one extra pizza chef to ensure a fast, smooth service.

What are the setup requirements?

Arrival & Setup: Our team will arrive about 1.5 hours before pizza service to park the truck, fire up the oven, and get everything ready.

Power: We will need access to a standard 10-amp outlet within 20 metres of the catering site. If this isn’t possible, we can bring along a generator for an additional fee.

Access: A level spot with enough space for the truck and prep tables is all we need to serve up the pizzas. Please refer to the Trucks page for the space requirements associated with each camper and truck.

What does our Games Hire include?

The games include Giant Jenga, Giant Connect Four, Quoits, Pétanque, Giant Noughts & Crosses, and Klop (or Finska).

Our team will set them up shortly after arriving, and then pack them up after pizza or gelato service has concluded.

What events do you cater for?

We cater for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, corporate functions, schools, and any gathering that needs great pizza and fantastic catering. Not sure if we’re the right fit? Just ask!

What is included in the gelato service?

Our gelato service includes authentic gelato and sorbet made by Bianco Latte, served in eco-friendly paper cups with biodegradable spoons.

We offer two or three delicious flavours (depending on your event size), and to keep things fun and relaxed, our team members will walk the gelato around so your guests don’t have to queue.

What plating options are there for the pizzas?

Our standard service includes pizzas served on wooden paddles with serviettes.

Alternatively, you can choose compostable kraft pizza boxes, biodegradable plates and wooden cutlery (for an additional fee), or you’re welcome to provide your own if you’re going for a more formal setting.

What's included with the salad service?

Our salads are served in individual bamboo bowls with wooden forks. We offer two salad types for under 60 guests and the following three salad types for 60+ guests.

The options are:

Garden Salad – lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, capsicum, drizzle of balsamic vinegar (may change slightly due to seasonal availability).
Caprese Salad – tomato, fior di latte, basil leaves, drizzle of olive oil, small amount of salt.
Rocket & Pear Salad – rocket, pear, walnuts, flaked parmesan, drizzle of balsamic vinegar, salt & pepper.

What’s included with the grazing boards?

Our grazing boards include:

Grissini sticks wrapped with prosciutto,
Handmade dips, including humus, beetroot and eggplant dips,
Marinated mushrooms,
Marinated artichokes,
Stuffed pepperdews,
Mixed marinated olives,
Semi-dried tomatoes,
Hand-cut cold meats, including salami, cacciatore & smoked cabana,
Crackers,
Freshly made focaccia bread,
Dried apricots,

Seasonal fruit, such as grapes, strawberries and figs (when in season).

Where can I taste-test your food?

You’re very welcome to come and taste test our food at Campground Kitchen & Bar, 9 Errol St, Braybrook. Simply book a table through the Campground Kitchen website to enjoy our pizzas, salads, and gelato while getting a feel for our food philosophy in action. When making your booking, just pop a note in the comments that you’re joining us for a taste test, and our team will look after you.

Please note: the restaurant menu is a little different to our Happy Camper menu, so feel free to ask our team for guidance on which pizzas to try.
